Privacy Policy

Overview

ShadowRoles ("the app") is a real-time multiplayer party game developed by Badr Alyafeai. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the game:

• Display name — the name you enter to join a game room. This is stored temporarily in Firebase during an active session.
• Game session data — room codes, votes, role assignments, and game events. This data exists only for the duration of the game and is not linked to any personal identity.
• Device preferences — theme and language preferences, stored locally on your device via shared preferences. Never transmitted to our servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not require account creation or login.
• We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or real names.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to third parties.

Firebase & Google Services

The app uses Firebase Firestore (by Google) for real-time game state synchronization. Game session data is stored on Firebase servers and is automatically deleted when the room closes. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed through Firebase: policies.google.com/privacy.

Data Retention

All game session data (display name, votes, role assignments) is removed from Firebase when the game room ends or when the host closes the room. No data is retained beyond the active session.

Children's Privacy

ShadowRoles does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The game does not require any personal information to play.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no user profile to delete. If you have any privacy concerns, contact us at badr.alyafeai@gmail.com and we will respond within 48 hours.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
